Teho Teardo's new project live: Music for Wilder Mann: wednsday October 17th at the Auditorium, Parco della Musica, Rome, Italy at 21:00
A very special concert where Teho will perform live mainly music inspired from Wilder Mann, the last book by the amazing photographer Charles Fréger.
There's a whole Music for Wilder Mann album in the making and this is the national premiere where several pieces from this forthcoming album can be heard live for the first time.
Frégere's work, so minimal, strong and visionary meets Teho's music on stage. For every piece performed on stage there will be the projection of one image of men wearing furs, animal skins, bones, bells.
His Wilder Mann book is a great photographic book about rituals which are centuries old and celebrate the seasonal cycle, fertility, life, and death. People literally put themselves into the skin of the "savage," in masquerades that stretch back centuries. By becoming a bear, a goat, a stag, a wild boar, a man of straw, a devil, or a monster with jaws of steel, these people celebrate the cycle of life and seasons. The costumes amaze with their extraordinary diversity and prodigious beauty. Work on this project took leading French photographer Charles Fréger to eighteen European countries in search of the mythological figure of the Wild Man.
